Crying Gaia is a sculpture suspended from the ceiling. Casted from from ice, the sculpture takes the form of a sphere 40cm in diameter. It hangs delicately in the air, gently rotating as it slowly succumbs to the warmth of its surroundings, a silent testament to the fragility of our planet.
The sculpture is a visual representation of the Earth, personified as Gaia, shedding tears for the environmental challenges it faces. Each droplet that falls from its surface symbolizes the melting ice caps, the disappearing glaciers, and the rising sea levels – the consequences of human-induced climate change.
